Definition: Irony is a figure of speech in which an expression means something the opposite of or very contrary to its literal meaning.

Also Known As: incongruity, sarcasm

Examples:

He was suspended for his little mishap.

The homeless survived in their cardboard palaces.

My cat enjoys the thrill of a good, long nap.
